WWE Raw 2024 Results: Bret Hart Returns, Wyatt Sicks wins, #1 Contender for IC Title & more

This week's WWE Raw took place at Scotiabank Saddledome, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It was a special season premiere edition of WWE Raw, featuring several big matches and segments to mark the occasion. Notable segments included the return of 'The Hitman' Bret Hart, Wyatt Sicks vs American Made in a Street Fight, Fatal 4 Way for #1 contender for the IC Championship, etc. This advertised match card had raised the expectations of fans. Let's see if it met their expectations or not.

WWE RAW HIGHLIGHTS 2024

The WWE Raw's 'Season Premiere' began with the Street Fight Match between Wyatt Sicks and American Made. This chaotic match featured kendo sticks, tables,  fire extinguishers, and trash cans, making the action relentless. Erick Rowan threw off the barricade before hitting it to the Creed brothers.  The main highlight of the match was the interference from Uncle Howdy, who hit Sister Abigail on Chad Gable. Taking advantage, Dexter Lumis hit Gable with a brutal Frog Splash to pick up the win for Wyatt Sicks.

In the next segment, Finn Balor addressed the WWE Universe about his issues with Damien. He said he felt like a sidekick to Damien and Damien never respected Finn. Damien entered the ring as he wanted to fight. But the Finn Balor instead challenged him to a match at Bad Blood. However, Finn had backup tonight as the Judgement Day attacked Damien Priest. Rhea Ripley comes in aid of Damien but the numbers game caught up the Terror Twins. The Judgement Day took advantage to get rid of Terror Twins. But Jey Uso entered the ring with a steel chair to save Mami and Damien.
The next was a title match for Women's Tag Team Titles. Earlier, The Unholy Union had challenged Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill for a title rematch. The match showcased Cargill's power and the athletic excellence of Belair. Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre tried hard even hitting their finisher. However, The Champions successfully defended their titles against The Unholy Union.


In the Next segment, Canada's own Bret Hart returned. The crowd cheered loudly for the Hitman. Bret thanked the crowd and praised Canada and its people. Gunther interrupted Bret's speech. He said he loved Bret as he was his childhood hero like everyone else. But Bret his #2 favourite and the first was none other than Bill Goldberg. Then hits the music of another Canadian, Sami Zayn. Sami also appreciated the Canadian crowd and reminded Gunther of who Bret Hart was. Another thing Zayn wanted was the title match tonight in Calgary. But Gunther declined Sami's offer. A brawl broke out where Sami stood tall alongside his childhood hero, Bret Hart.

The next match was a singles match between Dominick Mysterio and Dragon Lee. The match involved high-flying action from Drgaon Lee, who dominated the match in the beginning. But Liv Morgan interfered by hitting the knee of Dragon Lee. Dominick took advantage and hit 619 and Frog Splash to defeat Dragon lee.

In the next match, Natalya made her long-awaited return to WWE by revealing herself as the mystery partner of Lyra Valkyria and Zelina Vega against the Pure Fusion Collective. The main highlight was the hot tag of Natalya and the cheering of the crowd for her. In the end, Natalya hit her submission move Sharpshooter to get the win for her team.

In the next segment, Drew Mcintyre addressed the WWE Universe about his actions last week. He was happy how he took revenge on CM Punk and he may not be alive after the brutal attack. He then expressed his frustrations on Wade Barrett's resistance last week during his attack on CM Punk. Adam Pearce comes out to inform Drew McIntyre that CM Punk is not done with him and they will be locking horns for the 3rd time inside a Hell in a Cell at Bad Blood.

 In the next match, Rey Mysterio collided with Finn Balor. The match was short with Finn Balor picking up the win when he put Mysterio in a half boston crap submission. He would then assault Rey after the match showcasing his dominance. This match was important for Balor to gain momentum going into the Bad Blood.

The main event saw the #1 contender match for the IC Title. This match was the best one tonight with the likes of Jey Uso, Ilja Dragunov, Pete Dunne and Braun Strowman competing for the ultimate prize. In the end, Jey Uso emerged victorious to become #1 contender for the IC Championship.
